10. 13-year-old Kaytlen Lopan and a friend were playing with a little 3-year-old girl at a Utah McDonalds.. and then they cut her hair off with scissors. Well, as you can imagine, the little girls parents werent having a Happy Meal about that. So they filed a lawsuit claiming assault. Kaytlen was also accused of and admitted to making threats to a Colorado teen over an 8-month period that included threats of rape and mutilation. Judge Scott Johansen sentenced the teen to 30 days in detention and 276 hour of community service. However, he offered Kaytlens mom, Valerie, a deal that would greatly reduce her daughters sentence, and that would be to cut off Kaytlens ponytail immediately in the courtroom. She took the deal and lopped off her daughters ponytail in court. She later regretted doing that and filed a complaint against the judge. Well, it sure sounded like a good deal to me, considering what Kaytlen had done to the 3-year-old. What are your thoughts? Operators are standing by now.

9. Tyler Alred, of Phoenix, Arizona, was 17 when he pleaded guilty to manslaugter back in late new. He was driving a pickup truck with his friend, John Dum, beside him and was drinking alcohol when he crashed the truck. It killed his friend. Johns family did not want two lives to be wasted for a mistake, so Judge Mike Norman took that under consideration. He then gave Tyler a list of conditions to meet over the next 10 years to avoid prison. That list included: graduate from high school; graduate from welding school; take drug, alcohol and nicotine tests for a year; wear a drug and alcohol bracelet; take part in victims imp panels; and something a little unusual coming from a judge: attend church for the next 10 years.

8. You know I cant smile without you... (ahem). A U.S. judge is finding that a new punishment for repeat offenders who are accused of being too noisy. is working wonders. Judge Paul Sacco of Colorado wanted to try something new because paying a fine for being too loud just wasnt sinking in, and the same loud people would end up in court all the time. people who played their stereos too loud, or loud garage band rehearsals. So he decided to lock the offenders in a room for an hour with Barry Manilow songs playing loud. Amazingly, repeat violators have been cut way down. Oh Mandy!!

7. In Ohio, Bruce Crawford, 22, and Grace Nash, 20, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor conduct during an emergency (keep that emergency word in mind) after they rafted on a flood-swollen river without life preservers and lied about having them when they were found. A Painesville, Ohio, judge sentenced them to stand in a kiddie pool while wearing life jackets and handing out water safety brochures at a festival in Painesville.

Ya know, unless Im not quite getting this one. which is certainly possible.the last thing I would think about in a flooding emergency is whether or not I had an orange floaty vest. Im just gettin the hell outta Dodge. Although, standing in a kiddie pool does sound like fun.

6. Fluzin Baptiste, known as soymalau on Twitter, did some heavy-duty name-calling to two French politicians: Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet and Jean-Francois Cope. So the politicians took it to court and won. Aside from Baptiste having to pay a symbolic franc in damages and 5,000 francs in court costs, he was ordered to tweet the following 466 times: I have severely insulted Jean-Francois Cope and Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet. I regret and apologize. Why 466 times? Your guess is as good as mine.

5. Ok. weve reached the halfway point, so its time to make a difference. In Hillsborough, North Carolina, Superior Court Judge Carl Fox was battling blood cancer and seaching for a donor. Charles Alston offered himself up for a bone marrow transplant, if he was a match for the judge. That would have been very interesting indeed, if Alston was a match because Alston is serving out a 25-year prison sentence, and he was put behind bars mainly though the prosecution of the district attorney, who was Fox at the time. Alston claims he is not mad at Fox at all for putting him in jail, and even goes as far as to say that he even saved his life because hes managed to turn his life around. As thankful as the judge was at the kind gesture from the man he put away, he underwent a transplant involving stem cells from an umbilical cord and has greatly recovered.
